Description of idea

Leann and I would host a seminar on using technology to enrich your children’s or grand children’s lives and your relationship with them. After attending the seminar parents/grandparents will be able to plan & execute on these summer projects with their kids. Children will benefit by gaining valuable computer & creative experience.

Target Market

Our target market would be mac product owning parents with children between the ages of 3 and 12 that would enjoy working with their kids on projects over summer break.  Leann & Josh would teach parents how to use their technology to do fun projects with their kids over the summer.  These projects would have both a learning and entertainment aspect.

Example Projects:

  • Working with your kids to create and edit a summer video journal
  • Creating a family blog (including weekly topic suggestions)
  • Summer Photo Shoots & Projects
  • Creating a Family Photo Book
  • Creating a Family Blog Book
  • Creating a “My Summer Projects” Book
  • Helping your kids to creating video reviews of their favorite toys / books / tv shows
  • GPS Scavenger Hunts

What do I get for the money?

Parents/Grandparents would attend an all day seminar and get hands on experience and training doing each of the projects. We would walk the class through several one hour lessons (we might pick the 5 most popular projects for example). Each lesson might have 30 minutes of an instructor lead walk through and 30 minutes to work through an exercise in class.  There would be time for Q&A and lunch would be provided. Also volunteer helpers would be walking around the room to provide real time help on the projects as you worked through it.
Additionally you would get:

  • Access to video tutorials of each project in HD.
  • Summer Projects Guide with week by week suggestions for projects to do with your kids.
  • Ability to audit a future class for free (dependent on availability and content change).
  • Future access to instructor’s virtual office hours for Q&A
  • Subscriptions to the teacher’s guide news letter (a newsletter with project ideas, updates, tips & tricks).
